Mourners attend the funeral mass of Cranberries singer Dolores O'Riordan in Ballybricken, County Limerick.
Family and friends arrive at St Ailbe’s Church in Ballybricken, County Limerick for the funeral mass of Dolores O'Riordan. The Cranberries singer was found dead in a London hotel on 15 January 2018.
Those attending the singer’s requiem mass include her three children Taylor, Molly and Dakota and ex- husband Don Burton. They join her mother Eileen, her sister Angela, and brothers Terence, Brendan, Donal, Joseph and PJ. Band members Noel Hogan, Mike Hogan and Fergal Lawler also attend the mass.
A platinum disc, a guitar and a book of poetry were gifts brought to the altar as symbols of her life.
The service begins with a rendition of 'Ave Maria’ recorded by Dolores O’Riordan with Luciano Pavarotti.
Canon Liam McNamara recalls meeting Dolores O’Riordan some thirty years ago when she sang in the parish choir. He remembers a woman with a kind loving generous heart and an influence for good,
Her kind personality and her beautiful singing voice which has been heard all over the world.
He believes the number of people Dolores O’Riordan helped through her songs is too numerous to count. But she undoubtedly rescued a great many from the darkness of depression with her music.
Dolores O'Riordan is buried alongside her late father Terry in nearby Caherelly Cemetery.
