Catherine Nevin is charged with the murder of her husband Tom Nevin.

Fifty-five year old Tom Nevin was shot dead in his pub 'Jack White's Inn’. Tom Nevin was killed by a single shot gun blast in the pub located about five miles on the Dublin side of Arklow on March 19 1996.

Just over a year following his murder, members of the Garda investigation team took Catherine Nevin into custody. Catherine Nevin was arrested in the Ballybough area of Dublin. At the Bridewell Garda Station,

She was charged with the murder of her husband and with soliciting others to murder him in 1989 and 1990.

Catherine Nevin was brought before Judge Michael Kinellan at the Dublin District Court.

Detective Sergeant Fergus O'Brien said that when he cautioned Mrs Nevin at the Bridewell, her reply to all charges was "I am not guilty."

Catherine Nevin faces a total of four charges. In addition to the murder charge, it is alleged that between 1989 and 1990 she solicited three other people to murder her husband.

Catherine Nevin did not speak during the hearing and has been remanded in custody for a week.
