The Minister for Defence Gerald Bartley visits Cathal Brugha Barracks in Dublin.

The Minister for Defence Gerald Bartley, accompanied by the Chief of Staff, Major General Sean Collins Powell and the Quartermaster General (QMG), Colonel Joseph McPeake, visited Cathal Brugha Barracks in Rathmines, Dublin.

At the Irish Army barracks, the minister is met by Colonel Joseph McNally, Officer Commanding (OC) Eastern Command, Colonel James Quinn, OC 6th Brigade, and Lieutenant Colonel John O'Donovan, OC Cathal Brugha Barracks.

The Minister inspects a guard of honour drawn from the 2nd Eastern Battalion. Afterwards he addresses the unit commanders and tours the barracks. He visits the gymnasium and watches a soldier perform a gymnastics tumbling routine.
