The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra are among the performers set to play the Adare Music Festival in Limerick.
Over half a million pounds had been spent on the star studded programme for the festival on the grounds of Adare Manor. The festival kicks off in the grand marquee with a performance by the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra conducted by Hugh Wolff. He describes the setting as "quite extraordinary" as there are no castles like Adare Manor in the United States.
Artistically, last year's inaugural festival was a huge success but it lost almost a quarter of a million pounds.

The driving force behind the festival is Adare hotelier and New York investment banker Tom Kane who is hoping that this year’s festival will be more financially successful. His wish is that people will be supportive of the festival which he believes is important to the region for both locals and tourists alike.

Other artists performing at the festival include Phil Coulter, Bernadette Greevy, Mary Black, Acker Bilk, Mary O'Hara, and Paddy Reilly. The National Symphony Orchestra which will perform works by three of Ireland's leading composers, Seán Ó Riada, John Fields and Shaun Davey. There is also something for opera fans with performances by soprano Ainhoa Arteta and tenor Jing-Ma Fan.
