Boys or girls who is the more fashionable?

In the 'Private Eye' segment of young people's television programme ‘Echo Island’, Amy, Mary and Gillian investigate whether boys know anything about clothes.

The girls argue that boys fashion choices lack variety and displays poor colour combinations.

I think their mothers buy their clothes for them.

Not happy with this criticism, Paddy decides to see what boys think of girls’ fashion. He discovers girls spend too long getting ready and their style should be more practical.

To decide who is more fashionable, the girls and boys hold a fashion show. Deirdre Bentley, owner of McMullans fashion store in Arklow, County Wicklow is charged with judging the choices of both groups.

The boys shes says look trendy and fabulous so she awards them 26 marks out of a possible 30.  As the girls display a bit more variety, Deirdre Bentley decides to give them 27 marks.

Amy, Mary and Gillian are delighted they have conclusive proof that girls are more fashionable than boys.

Their parting piece of advice to the boys is,

Spend more time in the bathroom and less time on the football pitch.
