The German naval training tall ship Gorch Fock docks at Sir Rogerson's Quay during a visit to Dublin.

The Gorch Fock takes a four day break during a three month voyage. The training sail ship has 170 cadets on board who are learning the skills of seamanship under navigator Commander Hans Freiherr von Stackelberg.

The vessel is the second to be named after German writer Johann Kinau who wrote under the pseudonym 'Gorch Fock' and was killed in the Battle of Jutland in 1916.

During the stay in Dublin the ship is open to visitors from 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm each day.
