Fifty divers take part in a long distance swim starting out at O'Connell Bridge on the River Liffey.
The first ten divers jumped from O'Connell Bridge setting off on an eight mile swim to their local diving club in Dalkey. They all completed the swim within four and a half hours.
The first ten divers jumped from O'Connell Bridge in spectacular fashion.
Another forty divers from clubs from all over the country then took to the water, again jumping from O'Connell Bridge. These participants had a shorter swim of two miles to Ringsend.
The long distance swim comes ahead of a diving conference due to take place next week in Malahide. Long distance swimming is part of the normal training for divers.
