The Futura Fashion Fair at the RDS showcases the best in Irish fashion for the autumn.
The Minister for Trade and Marketing Terry Leyden of Fianna Fail opens the 22nd Futura Autumn Fashion Fair in the RDS in Dublin. Organisers are predicting record orders during the three day event.
Gerry Murphy, Chairman of the Futura Fair says,
The Futura Fair is the industry's marketing place each autumn and springtime. It is the place where the buyers come together with the manufacturers and the designers and this creates the Irish market in fashion.
Minister Terry Leyden says the fashion industry is worth £270 million in exports and that there is great potential for expansion with the Single European Market in 1992.
