At a cost of £225 million 'Splendour Of The Sea' is the newest and fastest cruise ship in the world. On a visit to Ireland, the ship called first to Cobh harbour in Cork. The ship is 867 feet long and 105 feet wide, the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines vessel carries 1,800 passengers and 735 crew.
Cruise liner calls are a boost to the tourist industry Cork firstly and then Dublin. However, for security reasons, no visitors were allowed to board the ship. Splendour of the Sea is the biggest ever cruise liner to enter Dublin Port.
