All Ireland Hurling champions Offaly overcome their first challenge with a win over Wexford at Croke Park.

Wexford were left to rue an inability to turn chances into scores in the 1995 Leinster Hurling semi final. At half time Offaly led by 0-12 to 0-07. All three goals in this game came in the second half. Joe Dooley scoring first to extend the Offaly lead to nine points. A Billy Byrne goal which offered a glimmer of hope and narrowed the gap to six points but Wexford were not able to take advantage. A late John Troy goal sent All Ireland champions Offaly into the Leinster final where they would face Kilkenny next. The final score was Offaly 2-14 Wexford 1-10.
