Participants take part in the first Special Olympic Games held in Ireland.

Four hundred athletes from all over the country went to Gormanston in County Meath over the weekend of 20 to 22 April to compete for 16 places in the New York Special Olympics.

Organiser Rita English talks about the benefits of the year-round sports programme to its participants.
