A judgment in judicial review proceedings regarding plans by Apple to construct a data centre in Co Galway will be delivered in October.

Proceedings were brought by opponents of the plan by the computer company to build a centre in Derrydonnell, close to Athenry.

The case was heard by Mr Justice Paul McDermott earlier this year, but judgment was reserved.

A ruling has now been listed for the next court term, and is scheduled to be given on 12 October.

The planned €850 million development is at a standstill, pending the outcome of the court proceedings.
