Four staff members at NUI Galway are entering into mediation with the university in an effort to resolve a dispute over alleged gender discrimination.
The female staff members' legal action against the university has been adjourned to allow for the process to be completed.
The lecturers were unsuccessful following a promotion process operated by NUI Galway between October 2008 and April 2009.
Their case was listed for the High Court tomorrow but legal representatives for the women sought an adjournment to allow for the dispute resolution attempts to take place.
NUIG says it is not appropriate for it to comment on the mediation effort, given the confidential nature of the process.
