Gardaí are investigating a robbery at a jewellers in Dublin this afternoon during which a female staff member was injured.

The incident occurred at a premises at The Diamond in Malahide Village at 5pm when at least two men entered the premises and threatened staff.

A number of items including watches were taken in the incident.

One female staff member was injured in an altercation and an ambulance was called. 

She was taken to hospital where her injuries are described as non-life threatening.

Both suspects ran in the direction of Church Rd and Malahide Castle.

One of the suspects is described as around 50 years old, 1.8m (5'9") tall, wearing glasses and a yellow jacket.

The second suspect was wearing a black jacket, white hat and was much younger than the first man.
