Three people have been arrested after the discovery of over 140 kilos of cannabis in Co Cavan today.
A joint operation was conducted in Co Cavan involving the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and Revenue's Customs Service.
The officers stopped a car and found over 143 kilos of cannabis worth an estimated €2.8m.
Gardaí believe the drugs were being moved by a north Dublin criminal gang for the Dublin market.
A 36-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were arrested and are being questioned at Ballyconnell Garda Station.
In a follow-up operation, a 46-year-old man was also arrested and is being questioned in Cavan Garda Station.
