Talks are to take place between garda representatives and the Department of Justice tomorrow in an attempt to avert strike action planned for Friday.
Yesterday the Garda Representative Association and the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors agreed to use the services of the Workplace Relations Commission to oversee the talks.
However while WRC staff are involved in the negotiations, they are taking place at an undisclosed location.
10,500 rank-and-file gardaí belonging to the GRA and 2,200 sergeants and inspectors represented by the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors are due to go on strike Friday.
