An investigation is under way after a man in his 40s was allegedly abducted on the Ardee-M1 link road in Co Louth this evening.
The man was found a short time later and is said to physically shaken but otherwise unharmed.
It is understood the incident began when the man's car was forcibly stopped on the link road at around 5.30pm.
The man was then put into a grey Toyota Avensis in which three men were travelling.
He was found around three hours later.
It is understood he is not known to gardaí.
