A man in his 30s has been arrested by gardaí investigating a fatal assault in Limerick earlier this week.
Gerard Freyne died in hospital yesterday following the incident which took place at Lord Edward Street on Wednesday evening.
A 32-year-old man was arrested in Limerick this morning in connection with the death.
He is being detained at Roxboro Road Garda Station.
