A pedestrian has died after he was struck by a car on the Shelbourne Road in Dublin shortly after midnight.
The 47-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car was uninjured.
The Shelbourne Road between Bath Avenue and Lansdowne Road was closed for a time but has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
