Three people are to face trial at the Circuit Criminal Court arising out of the investigation into the death of an 18-year-old man who is alleged to have taken a drug known as N-bomb in Cork last January.
Alex Ryan, from Liscahane, Millstreet, Co Cork, died on 23 January.
Three people appeared before the District Court in Cork charged in connection with the investigation into his death.
Harry Clifton, 29, of St Finbarr's Place, Proby's Quay, Cork, is charged with intentionally or recklessly engaging in conduct, that he allegedly sold the drug N-bomb to another person purporting the drug to be less potent than 2CB, which created a substantial risk of death or serious harm to another person.
He is also charged with having four different types of drugs for his own use, and with having them for sale or supply.
The drugs referred to in those charges are cannabis, N-bomb, MDMA and DMT.
Two other people were before the court charged with conspiring with others to supply the drug N-bomb.
Ruairí Maher, 22, of Ballycurrane, Thurles, Co Tipperary, and a young woman are both charged with conspiring with another to possess the drug for sale or supply in Cork city on 18 January last.
Both accused are students.
The cases of all three were returned to the next sittings of the Circuit Criminal Court in Cork on 24 October, when it is anticipated a date may be set for trial by judge and jury.
