Gardaí investigating Dublin's feuding criminal gangs have seized a large quantity of drugs and a submachine gun in the city this evening.
Six kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of over €400,000 along with the firearm and ammunition were found when gardaí searched an apartment in Castleknock.
The operation was carried out by the Drugs and Organised Crime Unit backed up by armed officers from the Special Crime Task Force.
A 37-year-old man was arrested and is being detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
He can be questioned for up to three days.
Gardaí believe the submachine gun and drugs belong to the Kinahan cartel.
