A staff nurse who worked at the TLC Centre in Santry in Dublin is facing allegations of professional misconduct and poor professional performance at a Nursing and Midwifery Board inquiry.
Ms Pravila Kumari Gopalan, who is from India, worked at the TLC Centre in Northwood Park from February 2014.
She is facing six allegations which she denies.
It is alleged that Ms Gopalan failed to administer medicines to patients, failed to check expiry dates, failed to administer medicines in a crushed manner, did not keep adequate records, or properly store drugs and did not clean her hands between caring for patients.
The inquiry has heard that the allegations relate to events March 2014.
Ms Goplan was suspended from the centre and resigned in April 2014.
She told the inquiry she had worked for 12 years in Ireland and had been a secondary school teacher.
She previously worked at the Mater and Beacon hospitals in Dublin.
She also did military service in India.
Ms Gopalan, who is representing herself, denies the allegations.
She said that in the case of patient EB, who had dementia and suffered from diabetes, she had attempted to give the medicine five times and left it for a while.
Patient EB's daughter told the inquiry she found the medication in a cup.
It consisted of a paste with tablets, which had not been administered, and it concerned her.
The inquiry has heard that the TLC Centre is a private facility and has 128 beds.
