Two people have been arrested as part of the investigation into the fatal shooting of a man in Dublin.
A man and woman, both in their 20s, are being detained at Tallaght and Rathfarnham Garda Stations.
Gardaí said the man found with fatal gunshot wounds was killed at the scene as bullet casings were found nearby.
They believe he was killed sometime between 9pm last night and 9am this morning when he was found by a passerby lying on the road of a cul-de-sac laneway off the N81 at Crooksling.
The passerby initially thought the man was the victim of a road crash.
However, when gardaí arrived at the scene, it was found that the man had sustained gunshot wounds to the head and body.
Little effort was made to conceal the body as it was out in the open on the lane way surrounded by houses.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, has now been identified but his name has not yet been released.
Deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis attended at the scene along with the Garda Technical Bureau. A full post-mortem examination will be carried out tomorrow.
Supt Peter Duff said a number of shots were fired. No gun has been recovered.
He said there was nothing to indicate that it was connected to the gangland feud in Dublin.
However, this latest killing brings to nine the number of people shot dead in Ireland this year - compared with eight for the whole of 2015.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the Hills Lane or Crooksling areas, or who may have noticed anything unusual last night or early this morning, to contact them at Tallaght Garda Station on 01 666 6000.
