The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation is to lodge a claim to seek the restoration of all pay cuts at the earliest opportunity.
It is also to seek a pay evaluation of the expanded role of the modern nurse and midwife.
At the union's annual conference today, delegates also passed a motion seeking a return to the shorter working week of 37 hours.
The union passed a motion saying that the Lansdowne Road Agreement is a hindrance to the recruitment and retention of staff and that the INMO should review its continued cooperation with it.
Director of Industrial Relations Phil Ní Sheaghdha said there needs to be direct and immediate restoration of salaries to 2008 levels.
She also said there needs to be a review of the role of the nurse and midwife and for a price to be set for the broadened role of the modern nurse.
This is the second day of the annual conference in Killarney.
