A man is being questioned by gardaí following the seizure of three assault rifles in Co Meath which may have been used at the Regency Hotel shooting in Dublin.
David Byrne, 33, was shot dead at a boxing weigh-in by an armed gang as part of a feud between two criminal gangs.
The man was arrested in Co Meath yesterday afternoon and is being detained at Drogheda Garda Station.
He was held after armed gardaí from the Emergency Response Unit and the Special Detective Unit stopped a car travelling near Slane.
Three AK-47 assault rifles were recovered and are being examined to establish if they were used in the Dublin shooting.
The man, who is in his 30s, is from Donegal and is believed to be connected to dissident republicans.
He can be held for up to three days.
