A doctor who made an application to renew his registration to practice in Ireland but failed to disclose key information has been found found guilty of professional misconduct on three counts.
The Medical Council Fitness to Practise Committee found Dr Gregory Lowe had engaged in dishonourable conduct by providing false information to the Medical Council.
It also found he had contravened the Medical Practitioners Act.
A decision on any sanction will be made at a later date by the full Medical Council.
Dr Lowe, with an address in Toronto, Canada, did not appear at the inquiry today.
It was alleged that he answered 'no' on his Irish application to the question as to whether he had ever been required to give an undertaking regarding his right to practise anywhere.
Dr Lowe was suspended in November 2014 by the discipline committee of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario.
The inquiry has heard that he breached an undertaking in Canada to complete an educational programme in communications.
He admitted then to professional misconduct, was censured and suspended.
He is back on the register in Canada and working there.
Dr Lowe is from Trinidad and qualified from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1990.
He worked in Ireland for a number of years and in Northern Ireland, before moving to Canada in 2009.
Eoghan O'Sullivan, barrister for the Medical Council CEO, told the inquiry that every effort had been made to notify Dr Lowe about today's inquiry but he had taken no steps to engage.
