Convicted child killer Robert Black has died in prison in Northern Ireland.
He died in non-suspicious circumstances in Maghaberry high security jail in Co Antrim.
The 68-year-old from Falkirk was serving multiple life sentences for the murders of four schoolgirls in the 1980s and a number of other crimes.
A Northern Ireland Prison Service spokesperson said: "The Prison Service has confirmed that a 68-year-old prisoner has died at Maghaberry Prison.
"While this is not being treated as suspicious, the Prison Service has informed the PSNI, Coroner, and Prisoner Ombudsman. It would not be appropriate to comment further at this time."
One of Black's victims was nine-year-old Jennifer Cardy from Ballinderry, Co Antrim, whose body was found six days after she disappeared on her way to a friend's house in 1981.
In December 2011 he was sentenced to 25 years in prison for her murder.
In 1994, he was found guilty of three unsolved child murders in the 1980s - those of 11-year-old Susan Maxwell, from the Scottish Borders; five-year-old Caroline Hogg, from Edinburgh; and Sarah Harper, 10, from Morley, near Leeds.
He was arrested in 1990 after he was caught by police with a six-year-old girl in the back of his van in the Scottish village of Stow.
Black was also the prime suspect in the case of missing 13-year-old Genette Tate, who was last seen in Aylesbeare in Devon in 1978.
No trace of Genette has ever been found.
Cardy carries no hate for sister's killer
Jennifer Cardy's brother has said he carries no hate for her killer.
In the wake of Black's death, Phillip Cardy said he hopes people will take time to remember his victims.
Mr Cardy said: "I have no hate for him, I couldn't muster hate for him.
"It's a real shame that victims and their families are not remembered as much as the murderer.
"Everybody knows Robert Black but not everybody knows Susan Maxwell and Sarah Harper and Caroline Hogg and Jennifer. People forget very quickly.
"It should be about the victims. All those wee girls never got a chance to live a life - it's sad."
