An appeal for witnesses has been made after a Garda sustained minor injuries following an alleged hit-and-run incident in the town yesterday.
Two gardaí on foot patrol attempted to stop a car at around 6pm.
The driver refused to stop and one of the gardaí sustained a leg injury as the car left the scene.
The garda was admitted to hospital but discharged a short time later.
A car has been seized in connection with the incident but no arrests have been made.
