The trial of Glasgow Celtic and Irish international footballer Anthony Stokes for an alleged nightclub assault in Dublin has been adjourned until next year.

Mr Stokes, 26, of Claremont Terrace, Glasgow, was sent forward from the Dublin District Court accused of assault causing harm to Anthony Bradley, 42, at Buck Whaleys in Leeson Street on 8 June 2013.

The player's trial was expected to start today.

However, Judge Patricia Ryan said there were no courts currently available to take the case and the trial was put back to 20 January 2016.
