A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery in north Dublin this afternoon.
A number of men entered the post office in Baldoyle shortly before 1pm.
It is understood at least one of them was carrying a firearm.
They left the premises a short time later without any money and got into a waiting car.
The man was arrested in Portmarnock and the car believed to have been used in the robbery – a black BMW Series 1 with a 08-OY registration - was last seen on Station Road.
The man is being held at Coolock Garda Station.
