A case against independent TDs Mick Wallace and Clare Daly arising from entering a restricted zone at Shannon Airport last July has been adjourned.

The two TDs were arrested by airport police on 22 July when they scaled a perimeter fence and attempted to board a US military flight.

They face charges of entering a restricted area at Shannon and scaling the airport perimeter fence, contrary to the airport bylaws.

Ennis District Court was told the charges would be fully contested and that a day should be set aside to hear the case.

Judge Patrick Durcan adjourned the matter to 21 January to fix a date for hearing and the parties were excused from attending that day.
