A 49-year-old man has appeared before two Dublin courts on four outstanding arrest warrants.
Paschal Kelly, who is originally from Dublin but with an address at Cormeen, Ballyjamesduff in Cavan, was arrested by the Garda's Emergency Response Unit in Co Westmeath last night.
He was brought before the Circuit Criminal Court on charges of failing to file tax returns and threatening to kill a garda.
He also appeared before the District Court on 13 road traffic offences, including dangerous driving and endangerment.
He was remanded in custody to Clover Hill District Court next week.
Mr Kelly was first brought before the Dublin District Court this morning by detectives from the Organised Crime Unit and the Emergency Response Unit.
Detective Sergeant Daniel O'Driscoll told the court the 49-year-old was arrested on foot of two warrants issued two years ago by courts in Balbriggan and Dublin on charges of driving without insurance.
Det Garda Kevin Walsh from the Organised Crime Unit also gave evidence this morning.
He told the court that when Mr Kelly was charged at 11.20pm last night at Pearse Street Garda Station with 11 more offences, he replied: "I have nothing to say to the charges."
They comprise seven counts of dangerous driving and four counts of endangerment on the Naas Road, the M50, St Loman's Road, the N4 and the Lucan Road outbound at Liffey Valley.
The offences are alleged to have occurred in October 2012.
Defence Counsel said it was deferring consideration of bail and handed in a statement of means as part of a legal application, a copy of which was to be examined by Det Walsh.
Later, Mr Kelly appeared before the Circuit Criminal Court on two other outstanding arrest warrants, failing to file tax returns in December of 2012 and threatening to kill a garda in July 2013.
The court was told that one of the warrants was issued on the date for trial and this case was adjourned for three weeks.
