A man questioned in connection with an attack last week on Dublin footballer Jonny Cooper has been released without charge.

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The 24-year-old Na Fianna defender was stabbed on Dorset Street in the early hours of 20 September.

He was treated in hospital for injuries to his head, face and neck.
