The Food Safety Authority of Ireland Chief Executive has said two Tesco products in the UK which were found to contain a pain relief tablet are likely to have been deliberately tampered with.

Professor Alan Reilly's comments come as Tesco Ireland is recalling batches of Tesco 4 Chocolate & Nut Ice Cream Cones.

Customers in the UK discovered a pain relief tablet in two individual cones.

Professor Reilly said tampering of this nature is likely to be carried out by disgruntled employees.
