An air-sea search off the coast in Howth in Co Dublin was suspended at midday today.

Search missions were launched after there had been reports that a person had been seen in difficulty in the water last night.

The alarm was raised at around 7pm in the Balscadden Road area.

The coastguard helicopter and the Howth lifeboat crew had been involved in the operation.
