A cyclist, aged in his 80s, has died after he was struck by a car on the Dublin Road in Clane this afternoon.
The crash occurred at around 2pm.
The man’s body was removed to Naas General Hospital where a post mortem examination is due to take place.
The driver of the car, who is in his mid-20s, was arrested at the scene and taken to Naas Garda Station.
He has since been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecution.
The road was closed for a forensic examination but has since reopened.
