Three men are being questioned by gardaí in Cork following the seizure of a quantity of heroin, a sawn-off shotgun and ammunition.
The seizures are part of a garda operation targeting the supply of drugs in the city.
The arrests follow a surveillance operation at Knocknaheeny in Cork by detectives from the city's Divisional Drugs Squad, backed up by gardaí from Gurranabraher.
Two of the men were arrested in an open area when detectives seized around 1kg of heroin with a street value estimated at around €150,000. A sawn-off shotgun and ammunition were also seized.
A third man was arrested at the scene later.
Two of the men are aged 26, the third is 36.
They are being questioned at Mayfield and the Bridewell garda stations and are being detained under drug trafficking legislation.
All three can be held for up to a week.
Gardaí say investigations are continuing.
