A teenager has been arrested in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl in Limerick.
The arrest follows an investigation after the girl alleged she was sexually assaulted in a van, which was parked at the Crescent Shopping Centre on Sunday 25 November.
It is understood she made a statement to gardaí in the presence of her parents.
Gardaí carried out a number of interviews and took statements from the alleged victim’s friends and from a number of teenage boys.
They also examined CCTV footage from the shopping centre that day.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested this morning and is being questioned at Roxboro Garda Station.
