Two men in their 20s have been arrested in connection with a robbery at a post office in Co Meath this morning.
Gardaí say two masked men entered the facility in Clonalvy at 9.40am and threatened staff with a knife.
The raiders fled the shop with an undisclosed sum of cash, but subsequently dropped the money as they attempted to escape in a car which was parked outside.
They eventually left on foot, but it is thought they went on to steal a car that was later abandoned.
Gardaí, assisted by the Garda Air Support Unit, immediately searched the area and arrested two men.
The suspects are being detained at Ashbourne Garda Station.
