Gardaí appeal for witnesses to Dublin post office robbery

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a post office robbery in Dublin city centre this morning.

An armed man entered a post office on Merrion Row at around 10am, threatened staff and stole a substantial sum of money.

The man walked to a nearby hotel and got into a light blue Skoda taxi, which then drove up Merrion Street and turned right onto Baggot Street.

The suspect has an English accent and is thought to be approximately 50 years of age. He is of heavy build and was wearing glasses, a dark jacket and hat.
