A 39-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Christopher Jackson, who was found stabbed to death at his home in Dublin over the weekend.
Bernard Locke appeared before the Dublin District Court this morning charged with the murder on or about 7 September.
The body of the 53-year-old, from Prussia Street, was found in a flat in a house, which is subdivided into flats.
The body was wrapped in a plastic bag and left in a wardrobe. Mr Jackson had been stabbed several times.
Detective Sergeant Kevin Daly gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution.
He told the court that Mr Locke was arrested at 10.45pm last night at the Bridewell Garda Station and when he was charged 15 minutes later he replied: "No response."
Mr Locke lived in the same house where Mr Jackson was murdered.
He did not speak during the brief court hearing and he was granted free legal aid after a statement of means was supplied to the court.
As he is facing a murder charge, Mr Locke could not apply to the District Court for bail and Judge Patricia McNamara remanded him in custody to appear again at Cloverhill District Court next Thursday.
