Homes of Shane Lowry and Barry Cowen targeted in Offaly robberies

Gardaí in Co Offaly are investigating two robberies that took place at residential properties in Clara yesterday evening.

The first took place at the childhood home of professional golfer Shane Lowry.

A number of personal items, including some golf trophies were taken.

The second robbery was at the home of Fianna Fáil TD, Barry Cowen.

The family was away when the incident occurred.

Forensic examinations of both houses have taken place.
