Three people have been arrested following the armed robbery of a cash-in-transit van close to Rathfarnham Shopping Centre in Dublin this afternoon.
Two men and a woman in their late 30s to 40s were arrested in the Ballyfermot area.
A cash box containing an undisclosed sum of money was taken during the robbery.
A man armed with a gun approached a van on Butterfield Avenue, Rathfarnham, at 12.45pm and demanded the money.
He fled the scene in a red Skoda Octavia that was nearby.
The car was found burnt out later on Springfield Avenue in Rathfarnham.
No shots were fired and no one was injured.
The three people arrested are being detained at Terenure and Rathmines garda stations.
