Man held in connection with armed robbery at Dublin post office

Gardaí investigating an attempted robbery by two armed men at Walkinstown Post Office in Dublin last Friday have arrested a man.

A female staff member had to be treated in hospital for injuries after a shotgun was discharged at the glass hatch during the incident.

A man in his 20s was arrested earlier today and is being detained at Terenure Garda Station.

Separately, a fourth person has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at Walkinstown Avenue on Saturday.

The man, who is in his 40s, was arrested this afternoon in the Tallaght area and is being held at Terenure Garda Station.

Two men and woman who were arrested yesterday are still being questioned over the robbery at Crumlin and Sundrive Road Garda Stations.
