Two Dublin men have been fined €200 each for sitting each other's Leaving Certificate Physics exam four years ago.

Yale graduate Conor Dooney, 22, from Dun Laoghaire, who was described as a gifted student, sat Stephen Boucher's Higher Level Physics paper using his friend's student number.

Boucher, 22, from Foxrock, wanted extra points for a marketing degree, Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard.

The two pleaded guilty to impersonating each other during the exam.
