A number of police officers were injured during an attack by a gang of youths throwing missiles in west Belfast overnight.
Nine officers sustained minor injuries after trouble flared in the Broadway area of the city.
The attack saw around 21 petrol bombs and a variety of other missiles, including paint bombs, thrown at the authorities.
Police blamed local criminals, who they said were taking advantage of tension in the area.
