A 45-year-old former Bus Éireann bus driver has been given a three-year prison sentence for his role in a fatal crash in 2009.

Sorin Dinu, with an address at Castlecurragh Heath in Mulhuddart, Dublin, was the driver of a bus that became airborne after hitting a roundabout at Johnstown, Enfield, Co Meath, in February 2009.

The bus landed on a Toyota Land Cruiser driven by Cathal O’Leary, who was killed in the incident.

Judge Michael O’Shea refused leave to appeal.
