A 26-year-old man has been charged with the murder of 18-year-old Lauren O'Neill in Derry over the weekend.
Phelim McNally, with an address at Station Park, Toomebridge, Co Antrim, is also charged with the attempted murder of Lauren's 21-year-old sister, Brenda, who was seriously injured in the attack.
She remains in a critical condition at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.
The women were shot at a house in William Court in Bellaghy, Co Derry, at about 10am on Saturday.
Mr McNally spoke to confirm he understood the charges against him during this morning's brief hearing.
No application for bail was made.
Judge Barney McElholm remanded Mr McNally in custody to appear before Magherafelt Magistrates' Court, via videolink, on 13 June.
The judge said he wished to pass on the condolences of the court to the family of Ms O'Neill, some of whom were present for the hearing.
Members of Mr McNally's family were also in court.
