Five people have been taken to hospital, one with slash wounds, following an incident in Limerick overnight.

Gardaí say a row, involving a large crowd of both men and women, broke out at a pub on Lower Henry Street in the city at around 2am.

Five people were taken to hospital.

Their injuries are described as non life-threatening.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
