Gardaí in Co Clare are questioning two men and two women following an incident outside a primary school this afternoon in which a man was threatened with a machete.
A car was also damaged during the altercation, which occurred outside the Holy Family Junior school in Ennis shortly before 2pm.
A man waiting in a car was threatened, and the windows of his car were smashed.
As he tried to escape, he was chased through the school grounds by at least two men carrying weapons - one believed to be a machete, the other a golf club.
